Former Husky Guard Joins New Team In Wnba Deal

UConn Star Moriah Jefferson Traded to Chicago Sky

Former Husky Guard Joins New Team in WNBA Deal

The Connecticut Sun have traded former UConn star Moriah Jefferson to the Chicago Sky in a deal that also sees the Sun acquire veteran guard Marina Mabrey.

Jefferson, a four-time NCAA champion with the Huskies and a member of the U.S. national team, was considered a rising star in the WNBA. She has averaged 9.7 points and 5.1 assists per game during her four seasons in Connecticut.

Mabrey, a two-time All-Star and 2019 WNBA champion with the Las Vegas Aces, is a proven scorer and shooter. She averaged 13.7 points and 3.9 assists per game last season with the Chicago Sky.

The trade is a significant move for both teams. The Sun get a young, talented guard who could help them compete for a championship, while the Sky get a veteran presence and a proven scorer.

Jefferson is expected to make her debut with the Sky on Tuesday when they take on the Indiana Fever.
